Surrey and Sussex Healthcare (SASH) NHS Trust are looking for volunteers.
Volunteers of all ages (from 16 years upwards) give their time at SASH providing help and support to patients and visitors at East Surrey Hospital.
Alex McFarlane, volunteer manager said: “People from many walks of life and with varying experience volunteer for a lot of different reasons, our volunteers work flexible hours and bring a wealth of skills to the hospital.
“We would like to hear from people who have some spare time, would like to meet new people, give something back or value the opportunity to see if a profession in healthcare is for them to join us as volunteer.”
SASH has around 115 volunteers who fulfil diverse roles ranging from administration and nursing support to working with therapy dogs, gardening and arts and crafts volunteers. There really is something to suit everyone.
SASH is also seeking volunteer complementary therapists to provide care and support to patients and their families at the East Surrey Macmillan Cancer Support Centre.
Linda Somerscale, local volunteer from Horley said: “I have been a volunteer at SASH for almost eight years and I really enjoy it, I love helping people and the variety of queries we get makes the work really interesting.”
