When new deputy chief nurse Victoria Daley is not on the wards at East Surrey Hospital you can find her up in the skies over Crawley.
The trainee hot air balloon pilot, who lives in Maidenbower, recently joined Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital and also provides a range of services at Crawley Hospital.
Victoria has a long history in the NHS and has been a nurse for 22 years. Before moving to SASH the 43 year old previously worked as head of quality/chief nurse at Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups.
She said: “It’s wonderful to use my previous experience around the promotion of quality care from my work with the CCGs and I share the same passion as SASH for putting patients and patient safety and experience at the heart of all we do.”
Victoria, whose sister is a nurse at the hospital, added: “I grew up in Crawley and still live here and it is really great to work for the trust that cares for the community I live in and my family and friends.”
