NHS Improvement has confirmed the appointment of Dr Richard Shaw as Chair of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH).
Michael Wilson CBE, chief executive said: “I am delighted that Dr Richard Shaw has been appointed as the new Chair for SASH. Richard has been a non-executive director at SASH since 2012 and in this role sits on the Trust Board as well as being the Chair of the Safety and Quality Committee. Over the past six years Richard has made a significant contribution to the development of SASH in his role as non-executive director. Richard has a wealth of experience that will allow us to continue to grow as an organisation. This is great news for us and the wider health system.”
Dr Richard Shaw said: “I have greatly enjoyed serving on the Board of SASH for the last six years, a period which has seen the Trust achieve rapid and sustained improvement. I am proud to have been given this new role and look forward to the new challenges it brings. I will do all I can to help SASH provide the best possible service to patients and work with partner organisations to help strengthen the wider healthcare system.”
