On Sunday 8 July 2018, local people are invited to help raise money for SASH Charity and the creation of a dementia friendly garden at East Surrey Hospital, Camomile Courtyard by attending a Hymns and Pimms event at 5.30pm, at Christ the King Church, Honeycrock Lane, Salfords, RH1 5DF.
The evening will be an opportunity for church members and people in the local community to sing their favourite hymns and enjoy a glass of Pimms on a summer evening. All monies raised will be donated to SASH Charity, which is developing Camomile Courtyard, a relaxing outdoor space for patients living with dementia and their families during their stay in hospital.
Father Shane Wood, parish priest said: “Our church is excited to help such a great cause and support the work of SASH Charity at our local hospital.
“Our Hymns and Pimms event is a great way for people to reminisce and celebrate with their favourite hymns, singing songs of praise and thanksgiving with friends.”
Emily Brown, fundraising manager for SASH Charity said: “‘I’m delighted that Christ the King, Salfords have chosen to support Camomile Courtyard at their Hymns and Pimms event. All the money raised will go towards creating a calm, dementia friendly space for local people and their families at East Surrey Hospital.”
