Staff from East Surrey Hospital and local bereavement support charity – The Brigitte Trust, will come together on Saturday, 25 November, for a remembrance service commemorating the lives of people who have died whilst in hospital.
Relatives and friends of those who have recently passed away are invited to attend a special service in the atrium at East Surrey Hospital to remember loved ones through readings and music. They are also welcome to lay a flower or pebble in the chapel as a token of remembrance.
Vlada Rakin, hospital chaplain said: “We welcome everyone to join us.”
Elaine Edwards, Macmillian lead nurse for palliative and end of life care, said: “It is important that people from all religions and beliefs can come together to celebrate the memory of people they loved.
“The service allows some quiet time for those who want to reflect on memories that are personal to them. However, we also know that as part of the healing process some people need to talk and some take the opportunity to meet others who understand what it is to lose someone they love.”
The service will take place on 25 November at 11.30am- at the Atrium, East Surrey Hospital. There will be refreshments provided (tea, coffee and cake).
