We know how important visiting is for our patients, their families, friends and carers. Your safety is our absolute priority, so to ensure safe visiting during the current increase in respiratory infections, all patients and visitors to East Surrey Hospital will be required to wear a face mask in clinical areas.
All patients and accompanying visitors must wear a mask at their appointments and when visiting clinical areas unless they are exempt. Masks will be provided for you at our hospital entrances. The wearing of masks in non-clinical areas remains optional.
If you have symptoms associated with respiratory conditions, including COVID-19 and flu, we ask that you do not visit our hospital unless you are a patient with a booked appointment which you should still attend.
If you have had diarrhoea or vomiting, you should not come to the hospital until you have been symptom free for at least 48 hours. You can find out more about Norovirus here.
To manage the current spread of infection in hospital, from Thursday 2 January 2025, we are temporarily limiting visiting to one person per patient, per day. A different person can visit each day, but only one visit per patient will be permitted a day. This temporary change does not apply to our paediatric, maternity and end of life patients.
We have put these measures in place to protect patients, our community and NHS staff while ensuring as many services as possible are available for those who need them.
We will keep these arrangements under close review and will update this page with the latest guidance.
