Specialised paediatric anaesthetists care for patients under 16 requiring anaesthesia for ENT, ophthalmic, dental, general and trauma surgery. Very young children and children with complex medical problems are referred to specialist paediatric centres.
Critically ill children presenting at East Surrey Hospital requiring intensive care are stabilised by the critical care team, prior to transfer to specialist centres.
