The Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) clinic is situated in the Kingsfold unit and runs a seven day a week service for all patients with suspected TIA.
GPs can refer patients with suspected TIA (also known as mini stroke) direct to the TIA clinic by phoning the hospital on 01737 768511 bleep 455 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).All high risk patients are seen within 24 hours and low risk patients within one week.
Patients will have blood tests, an ECG and scans if indicated, and then will be seen by a stroke consultant for a review.
GPs are advised to phone first, fax later.
