The Cardiology Unit at East Surrey consists of:
- An eight bedded Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- Holmwood Ward a 28 bed medical/cardiology ward
There is also:
- An Angiography Suite with six-bed day ward
- Cardiac Rehab Team
- Chipstead Clinic an outpatient/cardiac investigation department
There are six Consultants:
- Team A: Dr Allen, Dr Iqbal, Dr Gandhi
- Team B: Dr Sneddon, Dr Banerjee, Dr Saha
The Nursing team from Holmwood and CCU rotate between the two areas, and Senior Nurses form part of the chest pain and cardiac arrest team that covers the whole of the hospital.
Visiting times are 2pm-8pm and strictly 2 visitors to a bed.
Unfortunately we do not allow flowers and mobile phones are not permitted in CCU.
Meal times vary slightly between Holmwood and CCU and we do enforce a strict protected meal time policy, however, should you want to assist in the feeding of your relative, please liaise with a member of the nursing team and we will gladly facilitate this for you.
There is a consultant ward round every day on CCU and every other day on Holmwood and patients will be placed under the care of one of the consultant teams and seen accordingly.
We regularly support the training of Student Nurses from the University of Surrey and also members of the South East Coast Ambulance but please feel free to let a member of staff know should this be a concern for you.
