The Angio Suite is a day ward with nine beds which includes four side rooms with ensuite facility and five bed spaces. We also have two state-of-the-art cardiac cathlabs for cardiac devices implant and invasive cardiology procedures. In addition, there is a specialist procedure room for cardio version, TOE and separate two rooms for diagnostic cardiac investigations.
We perform a wide variety of procedures, both as emergency referrals and elective procedures, comprised of:
Coronary interventions
- Coronary angiography
- Coronary angioplasty
- Chronic total occlusion PCI ( Percutaneous coronary intervention)
- Intravascular imaging (IVUS and OCT) of coronary artery
- Intravascular lithotripsy (Shockwave IVL)
- Pressure wire study (Coroventis Coroflow)
- Right heart study.
Cardiac devices implant
- Permanent pacemaker implant (PPM)
- Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD)
- Implantable cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (CRTP)
- Implantable cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRTD)
- Loop recorder implant and explant (ILR)
- Box changes/generator replacement for PPM,ICD,CRTP AND CRTD.
We also carry out a number of emergency procedures, including temporary pacing, pericardiocentesis and intra aortic balloon insertion for IABP therapy.
The Angio Suite is located on the ground floor of East Surrey Hospital next to the 8-bedded coronary care unit (CCU) in the orange zone.
