Mammography (X-rays of the breast) services are predominantly provided at Crawley Hospital within the Trust. Some services are provided at East Surrey Hospital. Mammography can help to find breast cancer early, as part of a breast cancer screening programme.
You should get your results within 14 days. The radiographer will tell you when to expect yours. Around 96 out of 100 women in the breast screening programme have a normal result (96%).
If the X-ray is not clear enough or shows any abnormal areas, the hospital staff will call you back for more tests. You may need to have the X-rays taken again.
Mammography services are available by appointment only.
