David Barton, emergency practitioner
David started his career in the ambulance service, qualifying as a paramedic 20 years ago. He joined SASH in 2011 and now leads a large team of emergency practitioners (advanced nurses and specialist paramedics) and advanced clinical practitioners in emergency care. David is passionate about advanced practice and mental health services in the emergency department.
After completing a 3-year BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Practice at the St George’s Hospital Medical School (University of London) David is now completing a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and the NHS e-Portfolio (ACP competencies) as outlined by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
Registered with the Health Care Professions Council, an Affiliate Member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and a member of the College of Paramedics.
