Fiona O'Sullivan

Miss Fiona O’ Sullivan, FRCOphth, MD, Consultant Ophthalmologist , Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust.

Miss O’ Sullivan is a general ophthalmologist with a special interest in Glaucoma, Cataract and associated disorders. She assesses and treats patients with all types of Glaucoma, providing a fully integrated service. She has a particular interest in providing community based glaucoma care where this is appropriate and has set up and supervised a community based optometry follow up service for stable glaucoma patients. Miss O’ Sullivan is very experienced in all forms of glaucoma treatments including laser and complex glaucoma surgery.

Working with the Trust Team, Miss O’ Sullivan implemented the Day Case Unit on the Eye Ward at East Surrey Hospital which provides Day Case cataract surgery. She performs all forms of cataract surgery and runs One Stop cataract clinics at East Surrey and Horsham Hospitals. Miss O’ Sullivan has supported the training of the nursing staff who work in these clinics.

Miss O’ Sullivan trained at undergraduate level in Ireland and completed all her Ophthalmology training in London, including appointments at St Marys and Moorfields Eye Hospital. Miss O’ Sullivan completed her Glaucoma Fellowship and MD whilst at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She has worked at SASH since 1996.

Miss O’ Sullivan also has a long standing interest in Education and Training; she has been College Tutor at SASH for Ophthalmology for 15 years, Regional Adviser and Council Member to Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Training Programme Director for KSS/London Deaneries training programme and is currently Head of London School of Ophthalmology.
