Consultant Chemical Pathologist
Dr Negar Maghsoodi (MD, APCP, MSc, FRCPath) is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist who joined Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in September 2016. Having trained initially in general medicine and pathology, Dr Maghsoodi completed her higher specialist training on the South East London Chemical Pathology Rotation and gained extensive clinical and laboratory experience at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals. She obtained her MSc in Clinical Biochemistry from University College London during her training.
Dr Maghsoodi is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, a professional member of Associations of Clinical Biochemistry (UK), European Atherosclerosis Society and Heart UK –The Cholesterol Charity. She has special interests in the biochemistry and management of lipid disorders and and holds a lipid clinic at East Surrey Hospital.
She is also an honorary consultant chemical pathologist at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital and teaches medical students at Brighton and Sussex Medical School that she really enjoys. She is interested and actively participates in clinical trials and research studies, has publications in peer-reviewed journals and presents poster/cases at scientific national and international conferences.
