The Breast Unit is dedicated to providing an effective and comprehensive service for women and men who have been diagnosed with a breast problem, and provide support to them and their families as needed.
We are an established team with specialist knowledge and skills in breast cancer care and are sometimes referred to as ‘key workers’ or ‘Macmillan nurses’ etc. The Breast Clinical Nurse specialist team are here to help support you should you have any concerns, need advice or require some emotional and psychological support. No concern is too big or small and the support we offer is ongoing – it doesn’t stop when your treatment finishes.
Working as part of a team, with other members of the multidisciplinary team involved in your care, we aim to offer you support and be a continuing link through all areas of your breast care treatment.
The breast clinical nurse specialists also provide nurse led services that include post diagnosis telephone clinics, prosthesis fittings, Holistic Need Assessment Support and Wellbeing clinics.
