Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Therapy

Botox can be injected to weaken overactive muscles, and is used in the treatment of conditions including hemifacial spasms, bleopharospasm, spasticity and migraine. This clinic is run once every 11-12 weeks.

Epilepsy

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions, and is thought to affect around 1 in 100 people in the UK. The diagnosis is usually made after an individual has had more than one seizure. It is important to note that not all seizures are due to epilepsy.

We accept referrals from GPs, the A&E department at East Surrey Hospital, or by the medical team at East Surrey Hospital. This clinic is run once a month.

  • Epilepsy Out-Patient Clinic

We accept referrals for patients needing specialist input for the local population. Patient seen include new referrals for suspected epilepsy and for follow-up of known epilepsy. This clinic is run once a month.

  • Epilepsy Nurse Specialist Clinics

 
We are in the process of recruiting epilepsy nurse specialist(s) to provide invaluable support for our patients with epilepsy.


Movement Disorders

This is a spectrum of disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonism.  A specialist outpatient clinic runs twice every month.

Nurse specialists review patients face-to-face in clinic, in addition to telephone clinics and email contact. This helps our patients with Parkinson’s disease manage their condition outside of hospitals.

This is a condition where in the coating that protects the nerves (myelin) in your brain and spinal cord are damaged.  This clinic runs once every other month.

Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic Brain Injury is a form of acquired brain injury that usually results from sudden trauma that causes brain damage. This is an out-patient only service that offers assessment and management of patients who need ongoing care and/or support.  This clinic runs four times a year.
