Antenatal Day Unit and inpatient ward

The Antenatal Day Unit (ANDU) at East Surrey Hospital is a six bed area with a waiting room and is situated on Rusper Ward, the antenatal inpatient ward.

ANDU provides a service for women who are more than 16 weeks pregnant and have a pregnancy related concern such as:

  • reduced fetal movements
  • vaginal spotting
  • mild/moderate pre-eclampsia
  • abdominal pain
  • persistent itching
  • pre-term ruptured membranes

This list is not exhaustive, so please ring ANDU on 01737 768511 x 1726 if you have concerns.

ANDU is run on an appointment system. Calls are answered by an experienced midwife who will either arrange an appointment in ANDU or redirect the patient to their GP, community midwife, or the Delivery Suite.

Rusper Ward visiting times

Partners are welcome to stay throughout the day. If you are being induced, your partner may stay overnight for support.

Other visitors are welcome between 12 pm – 8 pm. Only your own children are allowed to visit you on the ward.
