Action for Carers
Action for Carers aims to raise awareness of carers’ needs and concerns and to work in partnership with statutory services such as health care and social care teams. They also works closely with national carers’ organisations including Carers Trust and Carers UK, ensuring carers get better access to services and support throughout the UK.
They also provide many specialist services: information, advice and activities for young carers, moving and handling information and advice and support on issues relating to learning and work.

Brigitte Trust
Based in Dorking, the Brigitte Trust is an independent registered charity offering emotional support and practical help at home to people facing life-threatening illness. Although not a nursing service, they offer valuable support such as arranging transport to hospital appointments, collecting children from school, or sitting with a family member whilst a carer takes a much needed break.
