A new Non-Executive director (NED), Paula Swann, has joined East Surrey Hospital, run by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH). The Board welcomes Paula and is looking forward to her contributions to the hospital.
Paula, who will be joining the Non-Executive Board at East Surrey Hospital, has over 30 years’ experience working for the health service in provider (hospital and community services) and commissioner organisations. During her role as Chief Officer at NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group for six years, she has promoted the improvement of outcomes for older people through social care.
The NED Board, with Richard Shaw as the Chairman of the Board, are an important part of SASH through providing creative and independent contribution to the hospital. They are vital in ensuring the Outstanding rating that the hospital received from CQC is upheld. The team are looking forward to welcoming Paula’s evident skill and dedication. They are confident that she will be a key player in continuing the steady success of SASH.
Regarding her new role at East Surrey Hospital, Paula said, “I have three children and volunteer with Citizens Advice as an advisor and Homestart as a parent advocate and family support worker. I was previously Director of Finance for NHS Wandsworth Primary Care Trust for five years and have held several senior finance roles. I am delighted to be taking on this new role and I hope, that with the previous experience I have, I can further the successful work of the NED Board.”
