The Friends St Peter’s Infant School in Tandridge held a Glitter Ball at Woldingham Golf Club on Saturday 4th May to raise money for Outwood Ward at East Surrey Hospital. Outwood Ward is the dedicated Children’s Ward at East Surrey Hospital and has facilities for parents to stay with their child throughout their stay.
A group of mums, Clare Webzell, Rachel Harland, Anna Higgins, Gemma Bullock, Victoria McCusker, Annabel Bignell and Alex Smith, whose children all go to the Infant School, which has just 90 pupils, organised the ‘Friends of St Peters Glitter Ball’ and decided that it would be great if they could use to Glitter Ball to raise money for a local charity.
Clare Webzell one of the members of the committee said: “As we all have children we thought Outwood Ward seemed the most appropriate. East Surrey Hospital is our local hospital and most if not all of us are aware of children that have benefited from treatment on Outwood ward.”
She added: “We hope the money raised will go some way towards helping other children in the future from the local area.”
The Glitter Ball raised £500 for Outwood Ward and everyone at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS is very grateful for this wonderful donation to our Children’s Ward and would like to thank the Glitter Ball committee for all their hard work.
