Amanda Morgan, Burstow Ward manager
Burstow Babies, a feeding support service for new parents, launched on Monday 5 December at East Surrey Hospital, run by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH).
Provided by the infant feeding team at SASH, the new daily support sessions aim to help to support new parents with any feeding issues and are designed to complement the care provided by community midwives.
Amanda Morgan, ward manager on Burstow Ward said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer these new feeding support sessions to the families we care for. We hope by giving new parents the tools to be confident in their feeding choices, the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns they might have, it will make a difference to those first few weeks with their new baby.”
This free service is available seven days a week on Burstow Ward, 12:30 – 2:30 pm and is available to all families from the day of discharge home, following birth, until the baby is 28 days old.
