Michael Wilson CBE, chief executive of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH), opened a new occupational health unit at East Surrey Hospital (15 March).
The new purpose-built unit, designed to promote staff wellbeing, will provide clinics and consultations and host an alternative therapist who will give massages, manicures, pedicures, and reflexology at reduced rates. The development is part of a wider campaign, SASH Active, launched by SASH to broaden the range of health and wellbeing on offer to staff across the organisation.
Michael Wilson said: “Our staff are well known for the high quality care and attention they provide to their patients. Of equal importance is the health and wellbeing of the people providing the care.
“We are looking to continuously develop new facilities across the Trust to improve the environment for our patients and our staff, and I am delighted to open this latest addition.”
Mark Preston, director of organisational development and people, added: “The health, wellbeing and safety of our staff are paramount to them being able to provide the high quality care our patients need.”
