Dr Dachsel was appointed consultant in acute and general medicine in Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust in November 2015. He is responsible for managing acutely unwell patients admitted to hospital in the emergency department and acute medical unit (AMU). He is currently clinical lead of acute medicine.
He graduated from Dresden University, Germany in 2001. He moved to the UK in 2003, after completion of his MD in stroke research. He subsequently underwent training in acute medicine and received his higher specialist training in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery in October 2015.
Dr Dachsel’s special interests are the assessment of acutely unwell patients with Point of Care Ultrasound, the interface between emergency, acute and intensive care medicine, sepsis diagnosis and treatment and medical education. He has taught ultrasound widely throughout the UK.
