Overnight road improvement works on Canada Avenue
From 8pm on Thursday 29 February until 6am on Friday 1 March, and from 8pm on Friday 1 March until 6am on Saturday 2 March - the Canada Avenue entrance to East Surrey Hospital will be closed for essential re-surfacing works.
The road will re-open for normal use during the day on Friday 1 March.
We are working with our colleagues at South East Coast Ambulance Service, Surrey County Council and Metrobus to help reduce any potential impact on their services.
During the overnight closures, there will be diversion signs in place to direct any cars or ambulances coming in or out of East Surrey Hospital to the Canada Drive entrance/exit at the back – which will remain open as normal throughout.. While buses will be unable to serve the East Surrey Hospital stop itself during the works, there will be a temporary bus stop set up.
Unfortunately, due to the position of the resurfacing works that need to be done, the Trust HQ car park and the disabled car park outside the main entrance will be inaccessible between 8pm and 6am on both days. We will be deploying extra members of staff to help re-direct any blue badge holders or incoming patients to alternative parking.
While we have worked hard with the contractor to time these works to ensure the least amount of disruption for those who need to enter and exit the site, we appreciate there will be some unavoidable impact and we apologise to anyone affected. Once completed, we hope the improvements to the road will make for a smoother journey into and out of our site.
