Who are you?
Georgie Titeiu, theatre practitioner.
Summarise your role.
A theatre nurse is someone who wears many hats. One day you might be handing the instruments to the surgeon and ensuring all our paperwork is completed, or it might be preparing the team for any possible change that come within the surgery. My favourite part of the job is knowing that when the patient leaves the theatre, we have done all we can to ensure they have the best recovery result.
What do you find rewarding about your role?
The most satisfying part of my job is knowing that when the patient leaves the room, that we have given them the best chance at being able to live their life to the fullest. I also always look forward to the Christmas party!
What do you find challenging?
The biggest challenge is understanding the specific needs of each patient because every surgery operation is different. There is always something we need to overcome – whether that's staff shortages or anything else that's thrown at us - but when we work together we can achieve anything and have fun at the same time.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Spending quality time with the people that matter to me, hiking, and making soap and candles.
