Who are you: Dipen Boghani.
Summarise your role: SAS doctors are diverse group of doctors with vast clinical experience - working across many specialities and taking on roles in leadership, education and clinical governance.
Many of them are involved in activities above and beyond their day-to-day work, including training others. This underlines the valuable knowledge, skills and experience they share.
They play an important role in service delivery, in partnership with consultants, doctors in training and other healthcare professionals. SAS doctors make a hugely valuable contribution to our healthcare services.
My role is to support professional development and progression for these doctors across all specialities in our Trust, in partnership with SAS committee of Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery, department of education in our trust.
We arrange general developmental courses, also direct individual funding for training activates supporting applications for specialist register.
What do you find challenging about your role: The variety of developmental needs for such diverse groups of doctors
What do you find rewarding: When I help someone by providing useful training opportunities and funding support for progression.
What do you enjoy outside of work: I like oil painting, some of my artwork is displayed on the Surrey artists website.
