Who are you?Lucie Ward. Summarise your role.I have worked at SASH for 17 years. I started my career as a health care assistant and have now worked in occupational therapy for 12 years. In one and a half years I will be a fully qualified occupational therapist. I support people to get back to their previous level of function after having an illness. I also help facilitate safe discharges from the acute setting.
What do you find rewarding?I enjoy enabling patients to participate in activities that are important to them, helping them to achieve goals in their recovery. Getting patients back to their home environment is always incredibly rewarding.
What do you find challenging about your role?Staff shortages can mean I'm not able to spend as much quality time with patients as I'd like to. What do you enjoy outside of work?I like doing fun and adventurous activities with my two boys, as well as shopping and drinking prosecco with friends. |
