Who are you?
Joseph Ifedapo Ige
Summarise your role.
I am a charge nurse on Chaldon ward, which is a general internal ward. It is my duty to coordinate the affairs of the ward, ensure we have adequate staffing, make sure the workplace is safe, mentor junior colleagues and initiate emergency measures.
What do you find challenging about your role:
When there is a shortage of staff, it can be difficult to deliver my job to the best of my ability.
What do you find rewarding?
I enjoy being able to leave a positive impact on people's health and see them leave the hospital with a smile on their face.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy watching and playing football. I am an Arsenal fan.
What is your experience of eSASH training so far and how will it benefit your role on the ward?
It was very important that I did my eSASH training as soon as possible as it will help me to be ready for the big changes ahead…
With less than seven days to complete your eSASH eLearning, make sure you join colleagues across the trust like Joseph, who has completed and passed his online courses in preparation for face-to-face training from Monday 27 June.
