Who are you?
Sasha Stewart.
Summarise your role.
I lead on the bursary and CPD funding allocation for all of our colleagues across the Trust. I am really passionate about professional development. We are currently so lucky to benefit from the CPD funding available to the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP colleagues, as well as for Healthcare Scientists since October 2022. I am actively involved in staff career development by offering coaching conversations and delivering Career Clinics workshops which you can sign up for on SASHnet.
What do you find rewarding about your role?
Providing the developmental support to my SASH colleagues through the means of funding is very rewarding. I really enjoy coaching, facilitating feedback sessions and delivering training. I volunteer on Godstone Ward which makes me very happy to offer a helping hand to our busy colleagues.
What do you find challenging?
As the CPD funding is only available to a certain staff population (Nursing, Midwifery, AHP and Healthcare Scientists) and due to the eligibility criteria and the budgets variances in financial years, it means we may not always be able to fund those who are not eligible for CPD funding. As a team we work really hard to find alternative ways to support the development of our colleagues.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
My time outside of work is mostly spent running after my two young daughters and my two dogs. As a family we love going on long woodland walks and enjoy exploring local sea side towns. I absolutely love going to the theatre and watching musicals, with the most recent ones being Moulin Rouge and Les Misérables. I am also a big fan of going to the music concerts and thoroughly enjoyed seeing The Killers and Dua Lipa last year.
