Who are you?
Colin Pink, chief of corporate affairs and governance.
Summarise your role.
Enabling effective corporate governance by supporting the chief executive, Trust chair, the board, executive team and chiefs to ensure that the principles of good governance are maintained. I lead the corporate affairs team which includes the legal affairs, the executive assistants, corporate governance and the communications team.
What do you find rewarding about your role?
For me good governance is about having the right people, considering the right issues with the information available to make the best decision and do the right thing. Because of our values and our leadership I think we do this often, and well, which makes this job very rewarding.
What do you find challenging?
We are working in unprecedented times and immediate demands on our services make this role very challenging. Ask me again during a quiet summer period (fingers crossed) and I will probably say getting people to update policies during the summer is one of the hardest things to do.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I have a young family, I like playing games and watching films with them. I have been learning to skateboard with my daughter, thankfully she’s got the hang of it before I hurt myself falling off. In the evenings I love social dancing and have been known to compete.
